Tell us about where you’re from, what you do, how it all started and why you enjoy it.

I am from Gloucester and I started my own business in march and i sell premium coffee on my online store which i buy directly from coffee farms around the world and then roast to the correct profile of the coffee bean.
(also an importer of a popular whiskey coffee brand!)

It all started with having a few beers and talking to a friend about my idea of coffee and what can be done with it and i thought i can do something different with coffee which i still plan to do later on down the line once we progress. long story short my friend agreed with me and we partnered up and set off with JR Coffee.

Focusing on premium quality coffee beans to ensure our logo and brand deliverers quality and for those that try it will be able to taste that and we can build that relationship with our customers and the trust will be there to know what ever we put out has be trialled, tested and reviewed before going on our product list.

I enjoy what we do a lot! and that’s not only from appreciation of the process of coffee growing and the many methods of it’s delivery (Brewing methods etc) but its what coffee can bring to the table.
It can give reason to reconnect with friends and family and have the necessary catch up and makes you take time out for example ‘fancy a quick coffee?’ this is a opportunity to connect and talk something that this world is slowly disconnecting from.

What are your aims and are there any items or products you’d love to make?

Our aim is to be the trusted brand built and moulded to our customers (if there’s no customers.. there’s no business). We aim for our brand to feel more like friends more then the cooperate coldness you get from some companies.

Most definately! I currently have a note pad filled with ideas and little experiments! i want to produce a all day coffee designed around the gym which has healthy additions such as protein and bcaa’s etc however this is requiring a lot of trial and error and we cannot accept it until it reaches our expectations! but there are many things in the pipeline i want to bring out.

What do you consider your greatest achievement in the work you do associated with EDC?

I am new to the EDC group and have not had much opportunity to reach out yet however I have spoken with a couple great people in the group and everyone seems like-minded and positive which is a great thing in itself.
everyone in the group seems to be coffee mad also so i guess if i can benefit the community in some way would be my achievement (as well as making friends along the way!)

What is the best thing you have made and why?

best thing i have made at this moment is my own company JR Coffee, i believe in what you put in is what you get out of it and I am all the way in!

(but … saying that i want to go to a forge and make my own blade from scratch.. that would be awesome!

What EDC gear is in your pockets right now?

right now i got my Spyderco Para 3 red clipped to my left pocket.. it is my favourite tool!

What’s the favourite piece of EDC gear that you own?

hands down my spyderco para 3 is my favourite!

What EDC item would you love to own and why?

2021 EDCCOOPERATIVE ALOX CADET is something i want because it is a handy tool to have and also supports and represents EDC
