Clip & Carry/ StatGear
Tell us about where you’re from, what you do, how it all started and why you enjoy it.
We’re from the US, we recently moved from Brooklyn NY to Florida as we are expanding and needed a new warehouse and office (and some sun) so we moved down about 9 months ago. It all started by our CEO, Avi, who was a NYC paramedic recognizing the need for certain tools when responding to calls…..so he went out to make them. That is how Statgear was created. Everything is unique and looking to fill a void in the market, not just to add a line of new knives every year because we can.
We look to pull in on the field experience from our team and also from what the customers are telling us to see how we can design the best tools.
BUT, we also love looking at everyday items and seeing how they can be improved. That is how Clip & Carry, the sister company, was created. We make accessories for leading EDC items. The swissqlip and swisslinq for the Victorinox knives, kydex sheaths for all major brand multitools instead of their old nylon sheaths and we’re releasing 1-3 new items a quarter….all while still staying small and in the strartup mindset.
What are your aims and are there any items or products you’d love to make?
Our aim is to be different….in a good way. Anyone who has interacted with us will see that one of our top priorities is customer service and this includes always standing behind our products 100%. We have that luxury because we are small; so responding to calls or emails within 24 hours and working to make the customers happy. We also look to see what we can improve upon. given our diverse background and manufacturing know hows we have an amazingly awesome eclectic team that approaches new projects from all different angles and the results are awesome products to support the consumers.
What do you consider your greatest achievement in the work you do associated with EDC?
Our Swissqlip is quite revolutionary. While there are some other options for a clip for your SAK, most require to add something to the current hardware or scale, but we used the existing hardware and built a great product around it. Our kydex sheaths, which are all hand made in the USA by US veterans has also been VERY well received and loved by all. From the quality of the work, to the FAST turn around time on something made from Kydex (qualifies for amazon prime) to the fact that in the end we get to grow a veteran owned and operated manufactures business as well is a great feeling.
StatGear has a number of great achievements, the widespread love of our iconic T3 Tactical Rescue knife used and loved by the everyday joe, to first responders, Government security forces, and elite military units around the world has been pretty fantastic. Plus then you have the fun of something like the Pocket Samurai Knife, which we made now in 7 different versions; because people love it and we love listening to the people (#1: titanium, #2: aluminum, #3: slip joint, #4: Colab with Unbox Therapy: as the official knife of Unbox Therapy, #5:, #6, #7: (well, you’ll have to wait a few months to see what those are)
What is the best thing you have made and why?
StatGear has a number of great achievements, the widespread love of our iconic T3 Tactical Rescue knife used and loved by the everyday joe, to first responders, Government security forces, and elite military units around the world has been pretty fantastic.
