Hawkrigger Gear

I first discovered Hawkrigger Gear via Instagram where, after chatting with Stu Graham, the owner, I purchased an Urban EDC belt.

This was during July 2018. I was so impressed with this that I subsequently bought a Talon EDC belt and one of the Para Bellum belts. I’ve worn one of these belts on a daily basis ever since.

Since buying the belts I’ve also purchased one of their Para Bellum watch straps which is the most comfortable strap I’ve ever worn and which will get it’s own mini review at some point.

OK, so back to the belts.

All three belts use high tensile, premium 1.5″ webbing which, in addition to being firm, has held it’s shape and not suffered from any fraying or such. The custom designed buckles are all made from stainless steel which is approximately 3mm thick.

Hawkrigger also produce other rigger style belts and various others suitable for CCW use or as or duty belts and which are available from their online store.

KnivesUK show review 2019

Waking up in an old 15th century manor house in the stunning Gloustershire countryside we knew it was going to be a great day, noticing it was only 3am clearly the excitement had crept in to soon. The EDCcooperative was going to have its first show table at an event and it was going to be great.

With everything packed ready and having enjoyed a strong espresso we bravely made our way to the small village of Thornbury and meeting up with other team members we were ready. Wearing new matching t-shirts and super cool name cards on lanyards we started to set up our table. A gasp with the amount we had brought, we carefully set about drinking coffee and eating sausage and bacon sandwiches, this followed by a lot of chatting and walking about looking at the other exhibitors setting up.

Leatherman Tread

A full review of the Tread wrist multi tool by Leatherman.

Day 1

So the Tread has arrived.

First impressions: DLC coating and general finish is excellent (very impressed TBH) the size of this thing out the box is huge. So after some reductions it slipped on well. It is a weighty thing but that’s something I suppose I will either get used to or not.

The tool quality looks great (yet to be used).

So was the price tag worth it?

I will get back you on that

And, lastly, the big question will it be used? I will just have to wait and see. Although having hex bits and more available that I never carry normally would have been useful last weekend.

So what do you get?

Knives UK 2019

So, if you’ve not been under a rock and you’re aware of what goes on in the EDC world in general, you’ll know that in the US, there are massive knife shows, gun shows and other shows that encompass the hobby/lifestyle that is Every Day Carry.

Blade 2019

Blade, in Atlanta, is probably the largest or most well know event as it boast to be the worlds largest knife show, which it would be hard to argue against. Blade attracts some of the worlds heaviest hitters in the custom knife game and it also brings with it a whole plethora of EDC makers; you name an EDC product and there will be a maker of it there. Blade 2019, of course, was this weekend just gone, the 7th to the 9th of June and it was expected that anywhere up to 50’000 visitors would have attended to see the five hundred plus exhibitors.

Knives UK 2019

The choices that we have here in the UK are somewhat limited, the Bushcraft Show and a few shooting shows are about all we have really…. that is until a 2006 when Knives UK held their first show and it has gone from strength to strength ever since. The Knives UK show is the largest knife show in the UK, that large, it has had to move venues to accommodate the exhibitors as well as the visitors.

The EDC Cooperative website is here

We’re pleased to announce the launch of the new EDC Cooperative website which will be a central hub for everything coop related.

We’ve been discussing having our own website for a while and now it’s finally here. It’s still very much in it’s infancy so things will probably change as we go along.
